Crop and rotate images

Crop to any shape, then rotate or flip. Your images are edited on your device and never uploaded, and there is no sign-up.

How to crop and rotate images online

  1. Add your images

Drop images into the box, choose them from your device, or paste them from your clipboard. The editor opens with all of them in a list, so you can work through a batch.

  2. Crop and rotate privately on your device

Drag the frame or pick a shape such as 1:1, 4:3 or 16:9. Turn the picture left or right, flip it, and check the preview. Every edit happens on your device.

  3. Download your cropped images

Download each image as you finish it, then pick the next one from the list. Your images stay private: they never leave your device, so there is no upload to wait for.

Crop an image to any shape or ratio

Free crop lets you drag the frame to any size. A locked shape keeps the frame at one proportion while you move and resize it, so a 1:1 crop stays square and a 16:9 crop stays widescreen. A preview under the editor shows only the part you are keeping, so you can check it before you download.

Each image keeps its own crop, rotation and flip, so switching to another image in the list doesn't lose your work.

A crop often cuts people out of a photo: a profile picture, a family snapshot, an ID photo. The image is edited on your device and never uploaded, so the part you cut away never leaves it either.

Rotate and flip images

Turn a picture a quarter turn to the left or right, or flip it horizontally or vertically. Turning fixes a photo that opened sideways, and flipping mirrors it, for example to undo the mirror effect of a selfie.

Rotating and cropping happen in the same editor, so you can turn a picture and crop it in one go instead of saving it twice.

Questions about cropping and rotating images

How do I crop an image to a square or 16:9?

Add the image, then choose 1:1 or 16:9 as the Shape in the Crop panel. The frame locks to that proportion, so you can move and resize it without changing the shape. The preview shows exactly what you keep.

Does cropping lower the quality of an image?

The part you keep is not scaled, so it stays as sharp as it was in the original. The result has fewer pixels, so it is a smaller picture and usually a smaller file.

Can I rotate an image by any angle?

No. It turns in quarter turns to the left or right, and flips horizontally or vertically. Straightening by a few degrees isn't available.

How do I crop an image for a profile picture?

Choose 1:1, square as the Shape, move the frame over the part you want, and check the preview. Most sites round the corners into a circle themselves, so a square crop is what they ask for.

How do I flip an image?

Use Flip horizontal to mirror it from left to right, or Flip vertical to turn it upside down. Flip horizontally to undo the mirror effect of a selfie.

Can I crop several images?

Yes. Add them all and they appear in a list beside the editor. Each image keeps its own crop, rotation and flip, and you download them one at a time.

Are my images private?

Yes. Sanil.app crops and rotates your images on your device, so they are never uploaded and never reach a server. They stay yours.
